BERNADINE BOGDANOVS

Bernadine Bogdanovs is the owner and creator of Palm Springs Desktop.com; the desert's only subscription service delivering a daily e-mail of advertising news and information to local Internet shoppers. Created to serve a growing need for women like herself, Bernadine recognized that more and more working women were turning to the Internet to shop. However, it became apparent that this growing trend was benefiting corporate America, while hurting the local business owner. Looking to solve what has become a problem for the small business owner, Bernadine developed a solution to benefit local business, while providing a valuable service to the local Internet shopper.

Following the tragedies of September 11, 2001, Bernadine, like numerous other Americans suddenly became unemployed. Realizing that the country, as well as her community, were in store for some tough times ahead, Bernadine began to consider her options. When the state of California began looking for ways to cut dollars from the tourism budget, Bernadine realized that there was value in providing an affordable way for area businesses to promote themselves. After some careful consideration, and support from family and friends, Bernadine developed Palm Springs Desktop.com.

Bernadine is a 4th generation native of the Coachella Valley, who has a genuine interest in promoting local business. Bernadine spent over ten years working in the field of sports marketing, and in 1997, accepted a challenging position with the California Council on Science and Technology, where she was inspired by meeting Dr. Leonard Kleinrock, an early pioneer responsible for developing the technology that became the Internet. This was followed by a brief, but interesting assignment working for America Online's Digital Cities in 2000. Utilizing her skills in marketing and Internet technology, Bernadine developed Palm Springs Desktop.com in 2003.

Bernadine's hobbies are baseball, physical fitness and English Premiership Soccer.
